Optical Character Recognition for Fax

Fax Optical Character Recognition, or OCR, is a feature that allows you to manipulate or edit the text from faxes you receive electronically.

Most electronic faxes are sent as .tif images; a file format that cannot be edited. But ISC's OCR software converts that inbound fax to plain text, allowing you to edit, copy or cut text from that fax message and import it into another file format, such as Microsoft Word, Excel or other programs.

With fax optical character recognition, you:

• Will receive both the original fax and the editable, plain text version
• No longer need to manually type content from a faxed tif image into another document
• Can easily paste the plain text into another file format

In its plain text version, our fax OCR software strips away all tif formatting. But it will preserve critical information such as time and date stamps, and any other information you specify.
